Despite all data to the contrary, climate activists claim the Earth is coming to a slow boil because yucky humans are dirty. Greenpeace UK released a video of Santa in what looks like an interrogation room claiming the North Pole ice is melting…even though it isn’t.
(DailyMail) — A chilly Arctic summer has left 533,000 more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 29 per cent.
The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.
Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores.
The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year. More than 20 yachts that had planned to sail it have been left ice-bound and a cruise ship attempting the route was forced to turn back.
Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century – a process that would expose computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming as dangerously misleading.
[…]
The pause – which has now been accepted as real by every major climate research centre – is important, because the models’ predictions of ever-increasing global temperatures have made many of the world’s economies divert billions of pounds into ‘green’ measures to counter climate change.
Those predictions now appear gravely flawed.
That’s appropriate. AGW is as real as Santa.
Propaganda from the Left is getting more ridiculous on a daily basis.
Hello John Barron,
If you Christians want to criticize the science of global warming you really are going to have to discuss science. Christians are seldom honest when discussing scientific matters and I haven’t yet met a Christian who wouldn’t lie if he or she thought they could get away with it when talking about science.
Yet I observe that none of the Christians here are educated enough to actually engage in an informed discussion of science. Perhaps there is a god up in Heaven that is happy that you Christians are polluting the Earth. Jesus walked everywhere he went but the Christians are entitled to drive an SUV, toss trash out their window and gluttonously gobble cheeseburgers while millions of humans starve.
Christians aren’t exactly optimistic about humankind’s future either. Have you read the book of Revelation? Seems like humankind awaits an unhappy fate, according to the Bible! Yet Christians know that the book of Revelation is a false prophecy. Indeed it is!
Nor should Christians worry about other fairy tales regarding humankind’s fate: There is no resurrection. There is no final judgement. There is no heaven. There is no hell. There is no god. There is no truth whatsoever in tHE Bible.
Dont blame me, blame the data. The data shows cooling. The data shows MORE polar ice. The data shows more polar bears. The data shows fewer extreme weather events. The data shows fewer tornadoes and hurricanes.
Sorry if you cant deal with that. Notice I quote a non conservative, non Christian mainstream news agency.
@David
This was a pretty funny insult: “Christians are entitled to drive an SUV, toss trash out their window and gluttonously gobble cheeseburgers while millions of humans starve.”
However true (or not trut) the statement I’m not sure that being condescending to the blog crowd is going to change any opinions. :) Are we trying to change thoughts and minds or just enjoying antagonizing the readers?
Hello John Barron,
You say, “Dont blame me, blame the data. The data shows cooling. The data shows MORE polar ice. The data shows more polar bears. The data shows fewer extreme weather events. The data shows fewer tornadoes and hurricanes.”
No. Have you suddenly become a scientist? Are you at all qualified to speak about any of these matters?
No. I wouldn’t trust your interpretation of the Bible much less any interpretation of science you might offer. Christians are especially unqualified to criticize science. It is sort of like asking a fish to climb Mount Everest.
Christians should avoid all talk of science altogether since they were foolish enough to disagree with Charles Darwin and Chares Lyell.
I wonder what the Bible has to do with this.
There is little interpretation necessary. Even NOAA has stats charting the numbers. I suppose you dont attempt to make a stance given that youre not a climate scientist?
Hello Charles,
You said, “However true (or not trut) the statement I’m not sure that being condescending to the blog crowd is going to change any opinions. :) Are we trying to change thoughts and minds or just enjoying antagonizing the readers? ”
God have mercy upon anyone who actually imagines that they can change anyone else’s mind! John Barron and his type have an entire propaganda establishment feeding lies about science to them from the television, radio, internet, magazines and books. I’ve never yet met a Christian honest enough or bold enough to walk away from the fog of propaganda to learn science.
Christians hate science and prefer ignorance.
The data is conclusive. There is no global warming. Only those who have an agenda to push with their unscientific brains would continue to proclaim the lies.

Hello Glenn Chatfield,
You say, “The data is conclusive. There is no global warming. ”
Your post is especially ironic since John Barron deleted my links in a previous post. Of course, hypocrisy and Christianity go together like Christianity and perpetual warfare.
Thanks for pointing out the propaganda machine which is working 24/7/365 spreading lies to an ignorant, gullible and easily manipulated population of ignorant Christians who hate science, are proud of their ignorance, and believe that you have a sky daddy up above who will send you to Heaven after you have thoroughly trashed the Earth.
Is it any wonder that Christians believe the Bible when their standards of evidence are so very low?
David runs around with his eyes blinded, his ears sealed, and yelling, “I can’t hear or see the truth because I don’t want the truth!!!”
Just like his clone Trabue
Glenn,
To be fair, Dan makes his points. He makes his arguments and offers his view and why he thinks his view is correct. David doesnt even do this. He just says Christians are evil, wrong liars and then posts a link. Thats far worse, its not even a debate.
John,
Yeah, you’re right. David is just a 100% totally ignorant troll.
@glenn
Yes, david is a troll testing our patience. I think he is trying to push someone to a point where they act “unchristian” in his opinion so he will feel vindicated in his views of Christians.
Hello John Barron,
The Bible has everything to do with this subject since it has provoked Christians to lie about science for over 400 years and it is the primary justification for why education of science is stuck in the 18th century throughout most of the Bible Belt in the poor old US of A.
You ask, “There is little interpretation necessary. Even NOAA has stats charting the numbers. I suppose you dont attempt to make a stance given that youre not a climate scientist? ”
The only people qualified to comment on climate science are climate scientists. Your interpretation of the NOAA stats is as deficient as your interpretation of the Bible. Christians really aren’t qualified to talk about any subject since ignorance and Christianity are two peas in a pod.
Hello David,
You say, the bible provoked Christians to lie about science for over 400 years.
Prove it.
You say, “the only people qualified to comment on climate science are climate scientists”
Yet youre not a climate scientist and youre commenting on climate science. Thats a contradiction, therefore you dont exist.
Hello John Barron,
You say, “You say, the bible provoked Christians to lie about science for over 400 years.”
Well, the Earth is not the center of the Universe, the Earth is 4,5 billion years old, humans are just animals, humans and all the other animals have evolved to reach their present form over the last 4 billion years, and science is quite certain that dead people aren’t resurrected, ever and this principle of medical science applies to Jesus just as much as it applies to Lazarus and anyone else which mythology claims was resurrected from the dead.
You say, “David doesnt even do this. ”
Don’t be silly. You haven’t presented a single argument on this blog, John Barron. Not even in this post. You’ve only provided a link to an article. You didn’t even provide your own interpretation of the newspaper article.
So don’t be a hypocrite.
Hello David, you say “the Earth is not the center of the Universe, the Earth is 4,5 billion years old, humans are just animals, humans and all the other animals have evolved to reach their present form over the last 4 billion years, and science is quite certain that dead people aren’t resurrected, ever and this principle of medical science applies to Jesus just as much as it applies to Lazarus”
Prove it. You make the claims provide evidence for your claims.
Hello John Barron,
You say, “Yet youre not a climate scientist and youre commenting on climate science. Thats a contradiction, therefore you dont exist. ”
I would here provide a link to what actual climate scientists say about climate science but you forbid such links while hypocritically providing your own links to your own sources. Honesty is a rare commodity among Christians especially when they engage in arguments.
So make your argument about what the article says, offer your view, offer reasons for your view, and you may post a link. But youre not just going to post the link and be done with it.
But another thing, I quoted from a news article and you said that wasnt good enough so why would any link you offer be at all credible?
@David
“I’ve never yet met a Christian honest enough or bold enough to walk away from the fog of propaganda to learn science.”
I myself did just that. I was impressed by the teachings of the founding fathers, many great thinkers, and the actions of a few great secular leaders.
@Everyone
These arguments are breaking down to the point of being childish and unproductive.
David says something and Jon immediately, and sarcastically, says PROVE IT! In some strange game of child like back and forth. Likewise David has resorted to bashing Christianity.
I am all for arguing one’s point, but lets give each other some leeway here for honest discussion and when a good point is made – acknowledge it. Atheists can make a good point about a flaw in Christianity as a Christian can do the same about Atheism. Whichever is right that is all part of the vetting process – and at a minimum expanding the knowledge of your own point of view.
Without some basic respect, reason, and even heads this entire blog degrades to the level of ideocracy.
Atticus
Maybe you havent been following very closely. David, for the past month, has not offered any substantiated claim. He has routinely made assertions claiming the issue is settled amd he is right amd Christians are liars who are also devious and evil. With all due respect, youve got some nerve claiming others are breaking down discussion. I, like most atheists, am demanding proof for claims made. It wasnt sarcastic, it was an attempt to get him to support claims he is making.
To say David has resorted to bashing Christianity is to ignore his first ever comment here and every ensuing one there after.
I get your point, but it’s misdirected.
@John
You demanded that David site “proof” that the earth is not the center of the universe. At some point we can take his “facts” as common truth. I understand your sentiment (as he demands truth at every corner from you), but it was becoming counter-productive.
Similarly, I know David has always been an opponent of Christianity and Religion, but in these comments in particular the bashing degraded to pure disdain for the institution itself rather than productive commentary on religion.
I disagree that my point was misdirected – unless the both of you find this type of commentary useful.
Hello John Barron,
You demand, “But another thing, I quoted from a news article and you said that wasnt good enough so why would any link you offer be at all credible? ”
The news article didn’t actually say what you claimed it said. How so? Because you didn’t actually say anything. You must say things if you want to convey your own interpretation of a news article.
This is what you said: “Despite all data to the contrary, climate activists claim the Earth is coming to a slow boil because yucky humans are dirty. ”
You’re going to have to do better than that if you wish to engage in an argument.
But I will offer you analogous argument and you can demonstrate how easy it is refuted:
“Despite all evidence to the contrary, Christians claim that Jesus will return. Two thousand years of waiting and Jesus still hasn’t returned. Any reasonable person would conclude after two thousand years of waiting that Jesus isn’t ever going to return.”
Christianity’s record of failed prophecies and false predictions of the future is quite spectacular. Among Christianity’s most famous false prophets: Jesus and Paul.
As such, I think it safe to say that Christianity is wrong and science is correct. This Universe is all that exist, the Earth is humankind’s only home, and there is no sky daddy up in heaven which will protect humankind from its own foolishness and self-destructiveness. For that reason it is in humankind’s best interest to take care of the Earth rather than trash humankind’s only home.
Hello John,
You say, ” I think he is trying to push someone to a point where they act “unchristian” in his opinion so he will feel vindicated in his views of Christians. ”
I don’t need to push any Christian to demonstrate a Christian behaving in an “unchristian” manner. There’s already 2000 years of evidence of Christians behaving in a Christian manner … that is committing warfare, genocide, oppression, slavery, segregation, discrimination, xenophobia, patriotism, hating, lying, slandering, and resisting progress on behalf of ideas which were already outdated 2500 years ago.
I know that Christians always talk about humility but every Christian I meet is so very proud of how good a person he or she is compared to everyone else on the planet. I spoke to one such Christian yesterday who was quite content with the idea that 99% of humankind would go to hell simply because the rest of the world wasn’t insane enough to adopt his own irrational, narrow-minded exclusive beliefs.
Christians don’t need any provocation to express hatred and bigotry. Christians are often most hateful toward each other, by the way. Ask a Protestant about the Catholics or even a member of one congregation about the other members. You’ll never lack for examples of hatred if you associate with Christians.
Hello John,
You say, “Maybe you havent been following very closely. David, for the past month, has not offered any substantiated claim. He has routinely made assertions claiming the issue is settled amd he is right amd Christians are liars who are also devious and evil. ”
No, John, I have offered numerous evidences regarding the Bible’s many contradictions and errors and Christianity’s long history of racism, bigotry and genocide. You haven’t offered a single defense of either the Bible or Christianity. Nor can you.
You claim to have read Karen Armstrong’s books but you obviously have not. You lied and slandered her scholarship because you are ignorant about what she has said.
You pretend that I am asking you to lift Mt. Olympus when I provide links to websites which contain actual information and knowledge to those who read. Reading isn’t that difficult. Right?
You edit my posts and remove my links and in doing so you behaved in a dishonest and dishonorable manner. I do not say that in doing so you behaved in an unchristian manner: Christians routinely censor their critics. That’s why so many scholars were burned at the stake when the Christians possessed political power and could enforce their dogmas by means of capital punishment. Christians have a long history of burning books, burning scientists and opposing scientific teaching to school children.
Christians are evil and have behaved in an evil manner when they invest so much energy into promoting ignorance and preventing American citizens from gaining an education so that the Christians’ religious dogmas aren’t challenged by science in the schools. Christians are also evil when they slander scientists by claiming that the last 250 years of scientific research was all devoted to atheism and is therefore the work of satan.
Christians look down their noses at everyone else on the planet while they commit all the same sins which they condemn in everyone else. The Christians ought to go to Heaven and everyone else ought to go to Hell.
I feel sad for Jesus since He’s going to have to spend an eternity with people such as the Christians since they become thoroughly insufferable after five minutes here on the Earth. Perhaps this is why Jesus has decided to wait at least 2000 years before coming back. Jesus must have had some second thoughts about the Second Coming and decided to do something else instead.
I havent edited any of your comments. I redacted 1 link. Nice try.
Hello John Barron,
You say, “I havent edited any of your comments. I redacted 1 link. Nice try. ”
Don’t be silly. Not only did you edit my comment you said that you would delete any links that I posted on this blog. You allow yourself and everyone else to post links but somehow I am forbidden from posting links.
Hey, Christian: got hypocrisy?
You shouldnt lie. I removed a link, that was the only change to your comment I made.
David is obviously like his father, the devil. Therefore he has to lie, attack Christ, misrepresent what the Bible says, etc, etc, etc.
Ban him John – he’s a time waster, and Satan loves to waste the time of Christians.
Also, I didnt say id remove any link as it stands. I said if all youre Going to do is post a link without making an actual point, I’ll remove it. People shouldnt have to scour the internet to find out what youre saying. You need to make your arguments.
Glenn has a long history of offering his own comments. His MO has always been to not substitute links in lieu of a comment. So for his comment to contain only links is permitted because it is not habitual.
If youd like to spend some time and offer actual comments and not send people on scavenger hunts, I’ll let you do it too from time to time. See how that works?
Youve been hostile since youre first comment. Are you like this in real life? It doesnt really fly here. Why not lose the hostility and discuss. You obviously have your opinions and you obviously care about them. How about you relay them amicably so we can have an actual discussion?
Hello John,
You say, “Youve been hostile since youre first comment. Are you like this in real life? It doesnt really fly here. Why not lose the hostility and discuss. You obviously have your opinions and you obviously care about them. How about you relay them amicably so we can have an actual discussion? ”
I make every effort to treat people in an amicable manner but I do become a bit offended when those engaging in an argument delete links and refuse to read material relevant to their opinions and claim to have read books which they clearly haven’t read (nor haven’t any intention of reading).
Youve been hostile since your first post. My you have a vivid imagination and revisionist way of remembering things.
Hello Glenn,
You say (following an especially stupid custom among Christians), “David is obviously like his father, the devil. ”
I am unlike the devil in one important sense: I exist whereas the Devil does not. The devil is a mythical creature.
When Jesus fought demons he was struggling against a non-existent enemy.
Thanks David, for more unfounded assertions. Your ignorance and trollish behavior never stops.
@Glenn
A fed troll is a returning troll.
Hello John,
It serves no purpose to whine. Those who engage in argument should expect to encounter hostility from time to time. Especially when they happily send billions of humans to hell.
Hello John Barron,
Glenn, a noted authority on trollish behavior says, “Thanks David, for more unfounded assertions. Your ignorance and trollish behavior never stops. ”
I’d hate to say the obvious but you haven’t handled your side of the argument very well. You haven’t produced a single argument on behalf of your opinions nor have you made any attempt to demonstrate a knowledge of any subject, including especially the Bible and Christianity.
Now you’ve become an incessant whiner since you cannot effectively engage in a discussion of these matters. You represent Christians in a very bad way, though your behavior is hardly unique among the Christians.
Christians insist that all discussions with them begin with the concession that God exist, Jesus Christ is savior, the Bible inerrant and infallible, and that Christians are better than everyone else simply because they believe something and have performed some magical ritual of salvation (certainly not because they are actually doing any good in the world).
Needless to say, the vast majority of humans reject these empty claims of virtue on the part of the Christians since they observe that Christians really are the most horrible people who happen to think that they’ve gotten on god’s good side simply by showing up at a church. Christians say “love, love, love” when all they do is “hate, hate, hate.” After expressing all sorts of intolerances they demand that the tolerant people of the world tolerate their bigotry, xenophobia, prejudice, warmongering and love of violence.
I havent presented evidence except news reports and data measurement, you mean.
Not to mention AGW isnt an issue related to Christianity
Hello John Barron,
You say, “Not to mention AGW isnt an issue related to Christianity ”
It is an issue when people who believe in talking snakes, talking donkeys and humans-walking-on-water begin to reject science and slander scientists because as a Christian you would rather pollute and destroy the Earth God created since you feel you are going to spend eternity in an evidently unpolluted Heaven with mansions and angels but evidently no SUVs or television sets.
I cannot trust a Christian talking about science since you are gullible enough to believe in a lot of non-sense written two thousand years ago.
Believing in a talking snake is difficult. Believing in evolution is easy. Believing in water evolving into wine is a lot more difficult than believing that humans (a primate) evolved from earlier generations of primates. Believing in the eternal fire of hell is more difficult than believing that carbon dioxide functions as a greenhouse gas.
Christianity has lied too many times to be trusted about anything. Science’s record is much better.
David,
How convenient it is that you can just ignore any argument made by any Christian. Pretty lazy.
