New Army Manual provides list of taboo discussion topics

(Judicialwatch.org) — Here is a strong indicator that the Obama Administration’s crusade to appease Islam has gone too far; a  new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other outrageous things.

It gets better; the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture— not Taliban infiltration—is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces.

The draft leaked to the newspaper offers a list of “taboo conversation topics” that soldiers should avoid, including “making derogatory comments about the Taliban,” “advocating women’s rights,” “any criticism of pedophilia,” “directing any criticism towards Afghans,” “mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct” or “anything related to Islam.”

When will we stop making excuses for this religion?

Buyers Remorse: 16 Democrat Senators who voted for Obamacare decry it as a job-killing tax

(Washington Examiner) — Sixteen Democratic senators who voted for the Affordable Care Act are asking that one of its fundraising mechanisms, a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices scheduled to take effect January 1, be delayed.  Echoing arguments made by Republicans against Obamacare, the Democratic senators say the levy will cost jobs — in a statement Monday, Sen. Al Franken called it a “job-killing tax” — and also impair American competitiveness in the medical device field.

The senators, who made the request in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, are Franken, Richard Durbin, Charles Schumer, Patty Murray, John Kerry, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Joseph Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Robert Casey, Debbie Stabenow, Barbara Mikulski, Kay Hagan, Herb Kohl, Jeanne Shaheen, and Richard Blumenthal.  All voted for Obamacare.

Two other Democrats, senators-elect Joe Donnelly and Elizabeth Warren, also signed the letter.  Donnelly voted for Obamacare as a member of the House.  Warren was not in Congress at the time.

Bankrupt California to give “free” cell phones to the homeless, unemployment benefits to illegals

The economy in California is so bad that it has been giving IOUs instead of tax refunds to its taxpayers and has decided that while they’re at it, just give the homeless taxpayer financed cell phones.  Why does anyone even work anymore?  By not working you have access to food, section 8, utility assistance, child care subsidies, and cell phone service.  Being poor is just entirely too comfortable.

(San Francisco Chronicle) — Homeless and other poor people in California are on track to soon get virtually free cell phones and service so they can keep in touch with family, potential employers and others crucial to improving their lives.

The cell phones would be handed out through a federally funded Lifeline program – already operated by service provider Assurance Wireless in 36 other states – that is likely to win final approval in the next couple of weeks from the California Public Utilities Commission.

“This is great – it is transformative for homeless and low-income people,” said Bevan Dufty, San Francisco’s head of homeless initiatives, who has been one of the program’s most ardent advocates. “I expect San Francisco to be in the forefront and a model city for this program.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill allowing for further benefits for illegal immigrants:

(Sacramento Bee) — Legislation introduced Tuesday would give about 400,000 undocumented immigrants in California the same rights as citizens to unemployment benefits and various other government services.

Assembly Bill 35 targets a select group of undocumented immigrants, participants in President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, who came to the United States as youths and have lived generally productive lives for numerous years.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation, effective Jan. 1, that enables participants in the federal program to obtain California driver’s licenses. AB 35 would provide them with rights to a state ID card, unemployment benefits and state-administered medical services.

Is there really any wonder why Californians are moving to Texas?

Merry Christmas… But not from the First family

The President and his family have sent their annual Christmas holiday cards this season.  The indisputably Christian President has decided to leave Christmas out of their message this year.  How thoughtful.

Too many minorities in school prompts redistricting

Yes, you read that right.  One local school has “too many” minorities and must redistrict the area in order to send them to another school.  This is Connecticut in 2012, not 1960 Arkansas, by the way.

(New Haven Register) — A redistricting plan will go into effect next school year to counteract racial imbalance at Church Street School, sending scores of students to nearby Helen Street School.

The move is necessary to comply with state law.

According to Superintendent of Schools Fran Rabinowitz, Hamden was asked to address the issue by the state Department of Education because minority students at Church Street School represented 25 percent more of the student body than is the average for other schools in the district.

To comply with state law, the new redistricting plan will send approximately 40 students from Church Street School to Helen Street School for the 2013-14 school year.

“The administration has been working on it since June, to come up with a plan that would have the least amount of impact on students and their families,” Rabinowitz said. “We realize that it’s very difficult to move from one school to another, but we have to comply with state statutes, so this seemed to be the very best solution.”

  1. Sen. Franken’s concern just might be due to the fact that there’s a little company called Medtronic in the Twin Cities, and I’m guessing they’ve donated a few bucks to him.

  2. If you think that the new Army manual is somehow different than the orders being given to us under Bush in any way you would be gravely mistaken. We were taught before deployment these same things. It kept no one from goading those dirt bags anyways. Especially when we saw their bullshit in action. Some of us would arrest and detain guys for spousal/child abuse all the time just so that we could get the message of civility and common decency across to their Bronze Age intellects. This btw is something that the rule of “law” brought unwittingly to christianity. Or of course you would still be murdering each other over your interpretation of doctrine etc. Whatever did you guys do before the cavalier stoicism of the keyboard?

    • Nash

You were told to not be critical of paedophilia?

      • We were never told to steer clear of it, though since we never saw pedophile happening it never came up with the locals via the interpreters it was a non issue. Although the men detained were often greeted arbitrarily to names and labels such as pedophile or goat molesters on a frequent basis. Which btw was never even to my knowledge ever even a verbal discipline issue. The hatred for the Taliban in the rank and file is immeasurable.

Any Thoughts?
