White people are white, and that’s racist

A speaker at an event railed against white people claiming that being white brings inherent racism.

(Maciver Institute) – The city of Madison hosted the 15th annual national White Privilege Conference last week at the Monona Terrace to discuss issues of white supremacy, social justice, education and the Tea Party. The MacIver Institute attended multiple breakout sessions and will be releasing our highlights over the next couple days.

Our first account comes from the breakout session titled Stories from the front lines of education: Confessions of a white, high school English teacher.

The session was facilitated by Kim Radersma, a former high school English teacher in California and Colorado. Radersma is currently working toward her Ph. D. in critical whiteness studies at Brock University in Ontario, Canada.

Radersma argued that teachers must fight against the oppressive structure in education and society. She said anyone who is going into teaching and education must be a political figure.

“Teaching is a political act, and you can’t choose to be neutral. You are either a pawn used to perpetuate a system of oppression or you are fighting against it,” Radersma said during the session. “And if you think you are neutral, you are a pawn.”

She said educators need to challenge the system, otherwise they are giving in to white supremacy. Radersma also argued the first step is realizing that all white people are carrying the signs of oppression.

“Being a white person who does anti-racist work is like being an alcoholic. I will never be recovered by my alcoholism, to use the metaphor,” Radersma said. “I have to everyday wake up and acknowledge that I am so deeply imbedded with racist thoughts and notions and actions in my body that I have to choose everyday to do anti-racist work and think in an anti-racist way.”

She argued that until white people admit they have a problem, they will not be able to fight against white privilege.

The tolerant LGBT crowd throws feces at parents who object to LGBT propaganda in their schools

Why is it that the political left is given a pass when they assault, vandalize, and throw literal s**t at those with whom they disagree?

(LifeSiteNews) – As parents in Germany have protested a new pro-homosexual “sexual diversity” curriculum in their schools, homosexual activists have attacked them by hurling feces and destroying their property, according to the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians, which documents anti-Christian incidents in Europe.

“Protesters were physically attacked and it was felt that the police failed to protect the parents’ basic right of assembly,” said a statement from the Observatory describing incidents at recent rallies in Baden-Württemberg and Cologne.

According to eyewitnesses, says the Observatory, “Christian parents were shouted at with obscenities.”

“They were spit at, eggs were thrown, and little bags with feces or color. Cables of loud speakers were torn out,” the organization says. “Pages were ripped out of the bible and used to wipe backsides, then formed into a ball and thrown at the parents.”

“Christians were deeply hurt in this process. At least one banner was snatched and destroyed in front of the eyes of the parents. Marshals were target[ed] with pepper sprays. Shouting by counter-demonstrator[s] made the planned public speaking partly impossible.”

 Sex trumps religion: Mozilla and Hobby Lobby

The CEO of Mozilla made known his views on traditional and same sex marriage and decided to resign because the Pink Mafia demanded it.  Apparently merely holding a private belief which isn’t rainbows and unicorns about same sex marriage means you shouldn’t be allowed to have a job.

(Mozilla) — Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and, this past week, we didn’t live up to it. We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it’s because we haven’t stayed true to ourselves.

We didn’t act like you’d expect Mozilla to act. We didn’t move fast enough to engage with people once the controversy started. We’re sorry. We must do better.

Brendan Eich has chosen to step down from his role as CEO. He’s made this decision for Mozilla and our community.

Mozilla believes both in equality and freedom of speech. Equality is necessary for meaningful speech. And you need free speech to fight for equality. Figuring out how to stand for both at the same time can be hard.

Our organizational culture reflects diversity and inclusiveness. We welcome contributions from everyone regardless of age, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, language, race, sexual orientation, geographical location and religious views. Mozilla supports equality for all.

The controversy surrounding Hobby Lobby has been muddled by propaganda regarding their actual stance.  The political left, in the worship of consequence-free promiscuity have made the issue about ordinary birth control, rather than drugs which terminate an already fertilized egg.

(Sifting Reality) — So what is Hobby Lobby’s position?  What is it they object to?  Well, it’s not birth-control proper.  As I said, their health insurance plans already covered that.  They protest drugs, prescribed or over the counter, or specific birth control methods which by design prevent an already fertilized ovum from implanting in the uterine wall.

What is important about this distinction?  Most birth control methods prevent fertilization.  By and large, there’s no moral issue there.  A single unfertilized ovum is not a living human being, and neither is any single sperm cell.  When brought together, however, when the egg is fertilized, a new living human being begins to exist even if it doesn’t implant into the uterus.  This is Hobby Lobby’s protest.

Hobby Lobby wants the freedom to not help facilitate drugs or particular birth control methods which affect an already fertilized ovum.  Opponents are spinning this position for political purposes because at the very heart of Progressivism is unbridled sexual liberty.  Sexual liberty is the notion that a woman should have the freedom to have sex as frequently or infrequently, with as many or few different partners as they desire, without the “consequence“ of producing children.   Essentially: I want to have sex as often as I choose and not be required to have a baby.  This is why elective abortion is such a core issue with Progressives.  And this is why Progressives are trying to demonize and bully Hobby Lobby into offering even more options for not having children than they already do.
