The consequences of ceding too much freedom to the government

There’s a reason America’s founders worded the Declaration of Independence the way the did.  The realized that human rights — true human rights were granted by God.  They knew that if the governmental authorities are responsible for our rights, they could be revoked at a time and for a reason the authority felt it expedient.
