Memorial built to nothing

If you ask the Atheists you encounter, many of them will tell you their atheism is a non-belief; that it’s not a view.  Well, the American Atheists have had a monument approved and erected at a courthouse in Florida.

atheist memorial

I hope those Atheists who claim atheism is not a view or belief set see the irony of erecting a memorial.

  1. “An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church. An atheist believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said. An atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, war eliminated.”

” An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church.”

Hospitals have in fact been built by Christians interesting enough, as well as many other things that have been quite helpful to people.

” An atheist believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said.”

Scripture instructs one to not only pray but also do good deeds. As a matter fact the book of James talks a great deal about doing…not just praying. The quote above shows ignorance on many fronts, one which is a misunderstanding of prayer.

” An atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death.”

Scriptures speaks of involvement in this world but with a focus on bring glory and honor to God…not oneself.

” He wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, war eliminated.”

A Christian wants all of those things but knows that such things will always remain as long as sin is in the world….and sin will never be completely gone from this world until Christ returns and makes the world anew.

John, do you support the atheists being able to have this monument on gov’t property?

    Just curious.

    Okay, thanks.

  4. It sounds like you have a severe misunderstanding of what atheism is. I’d be glad to explain if you are willing to listen.

Any Thoughts?
